One issue we found in the neighborhood was that many of the elderly citizens had difficulty getting out of the house to purchase fresh produce from our farm stand. As a result, we piloted a seniors delivery service that provides fresh vegetables once a week to seniors in a 5 block radius of the farm. One of the many benefits of being located in the middle of a neighborhood is that we are within walking distance of so many people. As we build our clientele, the VeggieKids will take over the delivery of the produce to community seniors, providing an opportunity for intergenerational meetings and friendships.

The delivery service will be a great way to get individuals involved in the farm who would otherwise not be able to do so.
